I’m very happy that after a few weeks of waiting for my answer I finally received the “official” approval to sell GPS products from the “Big Three”.  That’s right, there are many stores out there that sell them anyway, but the “big three” are cracking down on who sells them and those people are going to have a tough time getting them in the future.  I wanted to guarantee my customers that they are getting reputable products from a reputable store.  I don’t get mine out of the back of a truck, I get mine through authorized sources, and I sell them as an authorized source.

Now….all this talk and I only mentioned them as the “big three”….who are the “big three”?

That’s right, Serendipity Deals has finally hit the 1,000 products mark. I know it doesn’t sound like a lot of products, but when you are the only one hand picking them and adding them to your site….it’s A LOT. I’ve also just today created a “Squidoo” Lens for SerendipityDeals.com Go check it out and rank it, vote for it, something like that. I’m not quite sure what a Squidoo Lens is….but…here’s the link http://www.squidoo.com/serendipitydeals Should be interesting to see what becomes of it.

My son bought the Rock Band Drums for XBOX 360 at my store Serendipity Deals and had them delivered to our house. Let me tell you….WOW…they are awesome…but a lot harder to learn than the guitar. It’s scary how difficult they are to get used to honestly. Ever tried to rub your stomach and pat your head at the same time? Yea….it’s that hard….lol

Last week a tanker turned over about 2 blocks from my house on the highway and spilled about 400 gallons of a chemical used in plastic. Smelled like nail polish….lol. My son had off from school for 3 days since his school is about a block from it….my poor daughter didn’t get off from school though, her school is in another town, and it happened on her Sweet Sixteen Birthday!

Well…I’m about to get back to adding products to the site….let me know what you’re looking for.

Today, April 22nd 2008 is my two year wedding anniversary. I’m a lucky guy. My wife and I will be going out to dinner tonight…nothing fancy actually. Just a “sentimental” dinner at “Cheeseburger in Paradise”.

What?

Yup, on our honeymoon two years ago we went to Universal’s City Walk and had dinner on the outside porch of Jimmy Buffet’s “Margaritaville” and the live performer sang our wedding song for us while we ate….so since that was a good memory we are going to have dinner at another “Buffet” themed place.

Other than that….what have I been up to since back in February?

Well…I’ve been adding products to Serendipity Deals like a madman! Over 670 products and counting now! Also did some other advertising stuff with Google Adwords and Google Base so by all means check it out! Today was also another amazing feat! For the hell of it I decided to check out the search string stats for my other site Castle No Fear to see what keywords people were using to find the site. I found that the most popular search this past week was “Rock Band DLC April 22″….so I went to Google to see where we were on the list against all the video game news sites. To my surprise (at the time of this writing) we were the #1 spot on the list out of about 730,000 sites! NUMBER ONE!!!! That’s amazing! That is one heck of an anniversary gift from Google I’ll tell ya…..lol

11 Days and it’s been NUTS!

Why have I been missing so long?  That’s simple.  I got all my ducks in a row with the state of New Jersey’s business division and got all the certificates I needed for my store.   Since then I’ve been plugging away at different suppliers to get great deals for Serendipity Deals.

I’m at around 419 products and counting…and I have a TON more to add. I’ve finally gotten a few more great name brands as well including GigglyGear and The Highland Mint! We are also carrying BCW Sports Collectible displays, video game stuff, lots of baby items, and tons of stuff for your kitchen.

We had a major snow storm here on Friday, I spent the entire day sending applications to suppliers, in fact, I spent all day Friday and all day Saturday sending out applications to suppliers who I think have some great products to sell and that I can get some great deals from. The total? I sent out 194 applications! Yup…and Monday morning my email box was FLOODED! Not to mention my phone ringing off the hook….that was pretty crazy too. The worst part? 194 applications….and about 80% of them will want me to fill out even more applications. I had just recently cleaned my desk….and now….ugh. I’ve had to buy black ink for my printer twice this week….good thing it’s a tax write off now…lol.

Well…I have work to do….see you all again soon.

Okay, I’ve been going non stop like a friggen train with no brakes adding products to Serendipity Deals since I’ve opened the store. I still have thousands of products that I can add, but I’m at a crossroads….what do I add? I don’t want to spend the next three days adding products that nobody is interested in. So, now I’m looking at “What’s Hot” lately…maybe that will help. Also looking to see what the most searched for products are…figuring that will help.

You know what would help? If you guys posted a few comments about what you might be looking for and the price range you’re looking for it in. That would be an AWESOME help. So, if you’re reading this…take some time to comment and let me know what you would buy if I had it up there for the right price. I’m serious…it’s one of the major points of Serendipity Deals, customer interaction and customer service.

Well, I come downstairs this morning to continue my work and my keyboard is blue…it’s normally purple…. Confused? I have the Saitek keyboard that glows in a color that I want (choice of three, red, blue, and purple) well…since my favorite colors are purple and black I set the lighting to purple…so my keyboard is purple and black. When you restart my computer the light defaults to blue. So….SOMEHOW my computer decided to restart itself last night….and it’s not the first time it has done so. By some chain of events this caused the FiredUpRadio stream to go down as well….odd….yea.

I’d talk more about yesterday….but really…I don’t remember much about yesterday. All I know is that I added more products to SerendipityDeals.com….oh and for some reason apparently most of the internet went down at about 6PM last night….gah!  My wife made a great dinner though….mmmm….sausage and peppers.
