I’m a gamer, not going to deny it, it’s who I am and who I always will be.
But Keith you should be professional on your blog if you want people to take you seriously with your photography and cooking!
Plenty of professionals are gamers, it’s a great outlet, and it also fuels my creativity….but that’s not the point. I’m not going to hide away who I am on my own site. What makes me the person I am, the person that is (according to people I know) a good cook and photographer is also a gamer.
What I find pretty neat though is that two of my worlds can collide, gaming and photography.
Now, I play on XBOX One (I have both an S and an X), no…I don’t play on a PC, I don’t care to play on a PC…I’m not coordinated enough to play with a mouse and keyboard, I don’t care if you think it’s better. You do you, K?
So, now that that’s out of the way….how do they collide? Well, on XBOX you can take screenshots of your games. I play in 4K on a 55″ 4K HDR TV (it’s purdy) and I take a lot of screenshots. I get that same feeling catching an awesome photo on my XBOX as I do with my real life photos.
Several new games come out with a “photo mode” because of how amazing they look, but even without it, if you time it perfectly…you can get some great shots. Lately I’ve been playing a lot of Sea of Thieves and now Forza Horizon 4….both of these games look amazing in 4K. I’ve only taken one picture in Forza Horizon 4 though because I’m having such an awesome time playing it that I forget to stop and smell the roses so to speak.
Games today are beautiful, complete works of art. The fact that I can mesh together one of my favorite past times and my hobby is amazing. Does my eye for a great photo help me with taking pictures in gaming, or does gaming make me appreciate the place I live in more and the ability I have to take great photos?
I don’t know…for now, I’ll just rest here by the fire and contemplate the meaning of life…
